Stella Sharpe Obituary

Sharpe, Stella MarieStella Marie Sharpe, 87, passed away peacefully in her home on March 30, 2014 in La Quinta, CA after a long battle with Alzheimer's Dementia. Even until the end Stella fought the progression of her disease as strongly as she lived her life. "Steve" as she was known to close friends was born in Mt. Carmel, PA on August 7,1926. In 1948 Stella graduated from the Newark City Hospital U.S. Cadet Nurse Program where she continued to work as an operating room nurse. In 1950 she met and married the late John Francis Sharpe, Sr., a young car salesman. She and her husband Jack, owned Karen Chevrolet in Phillipsburg, NJ from 1963-1982. They spent the majority of their lives dividing residences between Milford and Belmar, NJ. Upon retirement they enjoyed life on the beach in Melbourne, FL. In 2006, she and her husband Jack moved to Southern California to be closer to their daughter and her family where they enjoyed "desert living". "Stella by Starlight" was known for her fabulous entertaining and family gatherings. She always enjoyed her many visits by friends and family to her home. She and Jack spent their time traveling, dining and enjoying their children, grand-"daughters" and many extended family. Stella is survived by her children: John F. Sharpe, Jr. and his fiancée, Nancy Dunlavey of Bethlehem; Joseph A. Sharpe and his wife Marlene of Bethlehem; Karen A. Sharpe-Frinzi and her husband Thomas of Newport Beach, CA. She is also survived by her seven granddaughters: Jennifer Sharpe-Prokopiw and her husband Peter; Kathryn Sharpe-Lear and her husband Matthew; Aimee Sharpe; Alexandra Sharpe; Andrianna Frinzi; Nicole Frinzi; Lauren Sharpe. Additionally, she is the great grandmother of "PJ" Peter Theodore Prokopiw, Jr. Services: A mass will be held @11am at St. Edward the Confessor in Milford, NJ 61 Mill Street, Milford, NJ with a luncheon to follow.
