Susan C. Eick

Susan C. Eick, 73, of Macungie passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023, after a courageous 10-year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. Susan was the devoted wife of Richard C. Eick, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.

Susan was born in Patterson, NJ to the late John and Claire (Fox) Santhouse, and grew up in Wyckoff, NJ. She attended St. Mary's Nursing school to become a registered nurse, and then later attended San Diego State University and graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Susan worked first as a nurse at various facilities, and later as a Cancer Care Coordinator for Scripps Memorial Hospital in San Diego, CA.

Susan was an active volunteer for the American Cancer Society in San Diego, CA, where she led a Breast Cancer support group for years. She was the recipient of the Susan G. Komen Award during this time. However, Susan's proudest achievement was being an amazing mother and devoted grandmother.

In her spare time, Susan enjoyed decorating and creating window treatments for her family and friends. She loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren.

Survivors: Husband; daughters, Katie E. Jeanes and her husband Brad of Schnecksville, Kelly C. Eick of Hatfield; two grandchildren, Dylan Jeanes and Emma Jeanes. She was predeceased by her brother John Santhouse, Jr. and her beloved dog Emmett, who never left her side.
