Thomas L. Brunner

Thomas L. Brunner, 85, of the Devon House, formerly of Allentown, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of the late Catherine E. (King) Brunner. Thomas was born in Palmerton a son of the late Percival and Mae (Laeger) Brunner. He was a graduate of Bethlehem High School and served two years in the U.S. Army stationed in Korea. Thomas earned his B.S. in Elementary Education from Kutztown State College and his master's degree in Elementary Administration from Lehigh University. In 1962 he began his teaching career at the Hiram Dodd Elementary School with the Allentown School District. In 1967 he was appointed principal at the Western Salisbury Elementary School, a position he held for 25 years before retirement. Thomas was a member of the former St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Allentown where he was a Sunday School Teacher. He was currently a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Allentown. Survivors: Son, Robert T. Brunner of Webster, NY; daughter, Karen E. Brunner of Emmaus; granddaughter, Laura Brunner of San Antonio, TX; sister-in-law, Mary Bishop of Allentown Services: 10:30 A.M.
