Thomas C. Osman

Thomas "Tom" Osman, a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2024, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Born on April 11, 1950, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Tom lived a life filled with love, spirituality, and a passion for music.

From a young age, Tom had a close and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He was proud that his birthday fell on Easter Sunday multiple times in his life, a symbol of the deep connection he felt to his faith. Tom's spirituality extended beyond his own religion, as he eagerly embraced the opportunity to learn about other faiths and cultures. He held no judgment towards others based on their beliefs, embodying true acceptance and understanding.

With a kind and gentle soul, Tom touched the lives of those around him. An avid guitar player, he found solace and joy in playing the blues. His musical inspirations included legendary artists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Winter, Joe Bonamassa, Carlos Santana, and Eric Clapton. Tom's love for nature, traveling, reading, raising monarch butterflies, and spending time at the beach further reflected his appreciation for life's simple pleasures.

Throughout his life, Tom pursued knowledge and personal growth. After graduating from William Allen High School in 1968, he attended Penn State University before starting his career. Tom worked as a computer operator for Merchants Bank of Allentown and later for EDS. Seeking further education, he attended DeSales University and the Information Computer Systems Institute, where he obtained advanced certifications in computer operations.

In 1996, Tom and his loving wife, Karen, moved to Roxboro, North Carolina, and eventually settled in Little River, South Carolina, in 2016. Along this journey, Tom continued to expand his horizons. He worked as a computer operator for Duke University and Vanity Fair, always striving for excellence in his profession. Later in life, he pursued his passion for healthcare and graduated with a nursing degree (R.N.) from Watts School of Nursing at the age of 60, graduating fourth in his class.

Tom's spirit will forever be cherished by his beloved wife of 35 years, Karen, his daughter Michelle Lee Osman and her husband, Jake Fischer, his sister Linda Osman, niece Sarah Mullin, nephew Mathew Mullin, two nephews from his wife's side of the family, William Austin Wary and Ethan Tyler Wary, and his mother-in-law, Jenet Carol Vance Edwards, and her husband Bob Edwards.

Tom was preceded in death by his loving parents, Elwood and Mildred Osman of Allentown, Pennsylvania. While we mourn the loss of this remarkable man, let us remember his kind and compassionate nature, his unwavering love for his family and friends, and his dedication to lifelong learning.

May Tom's memory inspire us all to embrace spirituality, pursue our passions, and treat others with love and acceptance. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
