Dear Kaye, Shannon, Katie and Jamie,
I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Haggerty's passing. I will always remember him as a very funny, creative, and talented person. He was a go getter, who was very successful in life. I remember him running the NYC Marathon in 1979. That was very impressive. I always enjoyed looking at his photos in my parents home in Riverside. My parents have kept me updated concerning his health issues during the past year...even thought I live 3,000 miles away in California, I was very sad to hear off his passing. My family sends their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

My condolences to the Haggerty family. Bill was two years ahead of me in grade school and Stepinac HS [the daily bus rides to White Plains] but we had many interactions during those times, including Port Chester rec league basketball teams, boy scouts and working together at Camp Siwanoy, and pick up basketball games in the old Port Chester neighborhood. He was a great friend back then, and the two years age difference was immaterial. I recall the time when he was studying for his dental school entrance exams and even though we went to different colleges, we maintained periodic contact through those years. Thereafter, my time in the Port Chester area was and has remained limited and our post-graduate education and military service took us in different directions. Yet, over the years I have not forgotten those good times and am certainly happy to have known this guy whose later life experiences seem to have been quite amazing. I have no doubt he influenced many, many people besides me [Eagle Scout, post-grad education, etc.] and his death certainly leaves a big gap in the lives of his family and in human society as well.

I also pray in the days to come that your tears can turn to smiles as you think of all the special memories you had with him. Love to you!

Uncle Bill was a fixture at our home on the weekends. Either Saturday or Sunday, or both, haha, he'd hang out for a diet coke and the comings and goings of all the Dustins! Loved him for helping my dad be a more social being, and for keeping us all company and having the funniest comments for everything that would happen around us! He was so gracious when we came to PA to visit the fam, taking us to the club and making us feel so welcome. Of course we miss our dad's best friend, but we do find comfort in the fact that they are once again together! Love, Marne and the Denslows

He was a true friend and classmate for all of the Miichaelmen of the class of '61. Bill will be missed greatly by his family and friends. I had the honor of helping to take care of Bill and Family. It quickly became obvious to me what a great man he was simply by hearing all the stories and meeting such a wonderful family. Phone calls and visits poured into their home everyday from his friends.I will miss seeing your little grin, holding you hand and giving you a much deserved foot rub. You are resting with the Saints my friend.
