Justin and family,
Attended a local basketball game last Friday, and I thought I saw your father there. On second glance, I realized it wasn't him. When I saw this in the Sunday newspaper, and I blown away.
I went to Jr high school with Bill and saw him many times through the years. He was the best guy! Always willing to help someone or offer some great suggestions or advice. We chatted on the phone a few times when he had the game store and we swapped stories about our teen kids. He adored his family!
I am so very sorry for your loss.They don't make them any better than Bill....

I am so very sorry to hear that Bill has passed away. He was not only a friend to me, but a mentor. He personified teamwork, and his love of the Mets was always entertaining. I `ll remember his dedication to the City of Allentown, his knowledge of the history of the police department and most importantly his pride in his kids. Rest well Billy

Condolences for the loss of the strength and soul of your family. Your father and I commiserated about rearing our young kids and teens many times. We shared parenting tips and the joys you brought him as you matured. Above all your was a wonderful teacher, mentor, and friend many rookie and veterans alike... he taught a lot by the way he walked professionally for the good of all. Justin, Jessica and family, I am sad to hear of Bill's passing. It was always a pleasure to work with Bill, he was not only a coworker but also a friend. His stories and quips were sure to spark laughter. Bill was also always quick to lend a hand to everyone. He was a tremendous asset to the police department. Over the years, the number of people who's lives he touched and the contributions he made to Allentown are overwhelming.

The passing of your father brings such great sadness. I had the pleasure of knowing Bill since kindergarten at Lincoln School in Allentown. He was truly one of the very nicest guys in the AHS class of 1972. He will be dearly missed not only by family but by friends as well. So sorry to hear of his passing. May God bless all of the Mentesana family during this very difficult time.
To Bill in heaven, thank you for your long time service as a police officer to the City of Allentown. As we have all learned over the years, the service of a police officer to a community is truly heroic. A grateful city mourns your loss as well.

Jessica, Justin and Emily, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Bill. I had the honor and pleasure to have worked with Bill for many years. He was always Pleasant and respectful while serving the people of our City for many years.
I had never heard of anyone who had a bad word to describe him, he was simply a stand-up person dedicated to the service to our citizens and his brothers/sisters in blue
