William Voight Obituary

William F. Voight, Jr.
William F. Voight, Jr., 90, longtime resident of Palmer Township, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, November 1, 2013, at Gracedale Nursing Home. He was a loving family man and dedicated public servant. Bill was born April 7, 1923 in Easton, PA, to the late Emma (Gardner) Voight and William F. Voight Sr. He graduated from Easton High School in 1940 and served in the U.S. Army in Europe from 1943 to 1945. He attained the rank of master sergeant. He attended Churchman Business College and worked as a bookkeeper for Alpha Portland Cement. He was later a partner in the Buskirk Co., a machinery moving business. He held several public service positions in Palmer Township, PA, including auditor, justice of the peace, police dispatcher, supervisor, and tax collector. Bill was a past member of the Palmer Kiwanis Club and the Brown and Lynch post of the American Legion. He was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship Church, Nazareth, and former member of the church elder board. Survivors: He is survived by his wife of 65 years, the former Lucielle M. Meek; his three children, Ann Blake, Sandra Fogel, and William Voight III; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include a sister, Marjorie Fehnel; and his beloved dog, Cody. He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Jennie Amerman and Shirley Hoffman; and a grandson, William Voight IV. Services: Services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, November 8, 2013, preceded by a calling hour beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Finegan Funeral Home, 4080 Wm. Penn Hwy., Palmer Township. Interment will follow at the Northampton Memorial Shrine.

Lucille, sorry the of the passing of Bill. We remember the good times at 1st Baptist Church in Phillipsburg.....listening to your daughter and husband sing so great to the glory of God for which you can be proud.
