BOBBY BRIGGS 06/07/1953 - 09/22/2025 Bobby D. Briggs, 72, of Summerfield, Ohio, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025, at O.S.U. Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. He was born at Mt. Pleasant, Utah, on June 7, 1953, a son of the late Roger and Grace Morris Briggs. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, coal miner and previously worked at the former Ormet Corp., Hannibal, Ohio. He was social member of V.F.W. Post 5303, Woodsfield, Ohio, and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Woodsfield. Bobby enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and riding his side by side thru the woods. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Charlene Briggs and Linda Kurtz; four brothers, Roger Lynn "Butch" Briggs, George Briggs, Buddy Briggs and Larry Briggs, and twin grandbabies. Surviving are his wife Candy McDougal Briggs whom he married on June 15, 1986; one daughter, Moriah Briggs of Lewisville, Ohio; one son, Andrew (Courtney) Briggs of Lewisville; two sisters, Dreama Briggs of Parkersburg, W.V., Sheila Tackett of London, Ohio; one brother, Ronnie Briggs; two grandchildren, Briella and Everly Briggs and a third one on the way; several nieces and nephews. Friends were received at Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78, Woodsfield, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2025, where funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2025, with Pastor Joe Hise officiating. Burial followed in Calais Cemetery, Calais, Ohio.
