HAZEL COLVIN

HAZEL COLVIN Hazel Marie Colvin, 88, of Woodsfield, Ohio, passed away in the presence of her family on Tuesday September 2, 2025, at Stellar Care Center in Woodsfield. She was born February 20, 1937, in Barberton, Ohio, to the late Gladys and Charles Davis. She was the last surviving child of five siblings and graduated from Barberton High School. On December 3, 1954, Hazel married her late husband William S Colvin and began her family. She was the mother of three children: William T Colvin and his wife Gena of Loris, S.C.; Sherry L McCracken of Sardis, Ohio; Martha R Bishop and her husband Tim of Piedmont, Ohio, all of whom survive her. Hazel was preceded in death by her loving husband, William S Colvin in December of 2007, and three grandsons: Jeremy John Colvin, Joseph Ray Colvin, and Eric Jason Colvin. The passing of a wonderful grandmother will leave a void in the lives of her eight grandchildren: Michael Wohnhas (Mandy) of Sardis; Michelle Colvin of Antioch, Ohio; Daniel Colvin (Courtney) of Maryland; Decinda Davis of Proctor, W.V.; Nikkia McCracken of Wheeling, W.V.; Erin McCracken of Sardis; Brianne McCracken of Sardis; Timothy Bishop of St Clairsville, Ohio. Hazel was a very proud great-grandmother as well to 13 great-grandchildren Ian, Ava, Jade, Brendon, Nygel, Cameron, Tatum, Wesley, Turner, Jaxson, Lily, Sierra, Zachary, and Nichelle, all of whom she dearly loved. Hazel was a devoted housewife, known for being a remarkable seamstress, and an avid ball player in years passed. Hazel enjoyed volleyball, and especially softball, and was also a dedicated league bowler. In the days of her youth, she was a dancer and it was a passion that followed her throughout her lifetime. Her husband Stanley was a noted musician in the county and Hazel was remembered at square dances and such while he performed. She was a Protestant by faith. Our hearts mourn the loss of an incredible woman. Friends received 2 - 4 and from 6 until time of funeral service at 8 p.m. Monday September 8, 2025, at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home Woodsfield with Jack Turner officiating.
