JACK BROWN Obituary

JACK BROWN Jack Curtis Brown, 83, of Jerusalem passed away Tuesday, June 10 in Liza's Place, Valley Hospice Care Center, Wheeling. He was born April 6, 1942, in Barnesville. Jack was a retired employee of the former ORMET Corporation, near Hannibal, Ohio, where he worked as a carbon setter. He was a member of Jerusalem Community Church and the Moose Lodge. Jack enjoyed any activity that involved being outdoors; two of his favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing. A graduate of Barnesville High School, Jack began cultivating his love of sports as a young boy on through high school while playing football and wrestling as a standout Barnesville Shamrock athlete. His love of football continued into adulthood as over the years he became a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Ohio State Buckeyes, and WVU Mountaineers. However he will forever be honored by many as one of the most loyal Beallsville Blue Devil fans of all times. Jack loved talking to people; his stories and ability to make people smile will be remembered by everyone who was fortunate to have known him. In addition to his mother, Orlena "Birdie" Cline Brown, Jack was preceded in death by siblings, William Brown, Nancy Fisher, and James Brown; also by a grandson, Mason Richendollar, and a daughter-in-law, Amanda Richendollar Brown. Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 63 years, Sierra "Sue" Phillips Brown: three children, Marty (Becky) Brown of Jerusalem, Molly (Larry) Woods of Flushing, and Wendy (Jim) Horsley of Columbus; three grandchildren, Josef Neilson (Shayla), Erik Neilson (Samantha), and Jamice Richendollar; three great-grandchildren, Jaxson Richendollar, Jaxon Blake, and Journey Smalley; also his mini wiener dog, Cracker. A visitation concluding with time of remembrance and a memorial service were held Saturday, June 14 at Wilson Funeral Home, Harper Chapel, Beallsville. Inurnment will take place at a time of the family's choosing.
