Aaron Stacy Obituary

Aaron Blake Stacy, age 14, of Marion, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2006, at McDowell Hospital. Born in Burke County to Timothy "Tim" Mark Stacy and Regina Tipton Stacy, he was a wonderful son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and friend to all he met. He was a student of West McDowell Junior High and was active in A.M.A. motorcycle racing, paintball, hiking, first-degree black belt in karate, weightlifting and football. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Artie Mae Stacy, and many other precious members of his family. In addition to his parents, surviving are one brother, Shane Stacy of the home; a special little brother, John Thomas; one step-brother, Joshua Stacy of Hickory; maternal grandparents, Bill and Peggy Tipton of Marion; paternal grandfather, J.W. Stacy; great-grandparents, L.C. and Gladys Tipton; also aunt Anita Poteat and husband, Benny, of Nebo; uncle Jim Stacy and wife, Nina, of Marion; aunt Rhonda McFadden and husband, John, of Marion; uncle Robert Tipton and wife, Annette, of Erwin, Tenn.; aunt Lori Biddix and husband, Jason, of Marion; and nine cousins, Todd Stacy, Brian Poteat, Jennifer McFadden, Jordan McFadden, Kelsey Washburn, Andrew Biddix, Sydney Tipton, Toby Tipton and Kylie Sheehan. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Going Home Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Duncan, Rev. Tony Shirley and Rev. Ray Stockton officiating. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today, April 17, 2006 at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 120 Executive Park Building 1, Asheville, NC 28801. I`m so sorry to hear of this lost loved one. I didn`t know him,but i go to church with his aunt Antia.I lost my brother almost 8 years ago at the age 24 to a car wreak.I will be praying for you, because God is the only one that will pull you through this.I know it don`t seem like it now,but i promise it will get easier.I also lost one of my closes cousins last year at the age 32,it was like losing another brother,but God has brought us through it. I will be praying for you all.

I met Blake while subbing at Nebo when he was in 6th grade. He was a well behaved child and a real pleasure for me to know him.He made me laugh on more than one ocassion. He will greatly be missed. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
