Carolyn Parker Obituary
August 5, 1936 - May 17, 2021
Carolyn Marie Parker, 84, of Old Fort, went home to be with the Lord Monday, May 17, 2021. She spoke often of and longed to be reunited with her loved ones in Heaven.
A longtime resident of McDowell County, Marie was born Aug. 5, 1936, to the late Luther and Nellie Robinson. Marie was a loving and kind person who enjoyed cooking and feeding people. She loved her family and her Salem Free Will Baptist Church family, where she was a member for over 55 years.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Albert Parker; halfsister, Bertie Lou Kelly; and halfbrothers, Jim Robinson and Luther Robinson Jr.
Marie is survived by her sons, Wayne Parker (Debbie) and Wade Parker (Cathy); sisters, Geneva Hogan and Elizabeth Sneed; grandchildren, Chad Parker, Aaron Parker (Holly), and Kelly Parker Lawing (Alex); and great-grandchild, Greyson Parker.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 20, from 12:30 to 2 p.m., at Salem Free Will Baptist Church in Old Fort. A celebration of life service will immediately follow at the church with the Revs. Jerry McClain and Vincent White officiating. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of CarePartners Hospice of McDowell for all their loving care towards Marie.

I am so saddened to hear of Marie's passing but do glad that she is being held close in the arms of Jesus our Lord!

Marie was a beautiful lady INSIDE AND OUT !!! I worked with her many years and called her Grandmother! There's certainly NO doubt as to where this sweet lady is today. But she will truly be missed.
