Dawn Vetter Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce Dawn Linson Vetter went home to be with her Heavenly Father Monday July 12, 2021.
Dawn wore many hats but her favorites were wife, mother, grandma and Miss Dawn. She served McDowell County schools for 22 years, as the McSmiles Preschool Teacher. She taught preschoolers readiness skills for kindergarten. She deeply loved each and every student as well as their parents. Dawn was vibrant and upbeat. She never met a stranger and could start up a conversation with anyone. She had the ability to find the good in every person. She loved to make cards for friends and family to spread her happiness to them. But what made Dawn's life so special and impactful was the order in which she lived it, Jesus, others, and then herself.
She will be missed by those who loved her the most, her family. Her husband, Joseph Vetter; four children, Abby, Joe, Karl and Kristin; seven grandchildren, Mia, Landon, Rhyland, Kingston, Braxton, Khyler, and Remedy Rose; two brothers, John and Jeff Linson and their spouses and children.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at Story Memorial Presbyterian Church Saturday, July 31. From 12 to 2 p.m., will be receiving of friends and from 2 to 3 p.m., will be the service. Additional celebration of life ceremonies will be held at Brown Mountain Bottleworks Sunday, July 25, from 5 to 7 p.m., and The Marion Moose Lodge Sunday, Aug. 8, from 4 to 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to McDowell Mission Ministries or The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

All of us here at Bloom Again are so sorry to hear of Dawn´s passing. She was always such a blessing when she came into the shop. So positive and encouraging. I´m sure she will be missed my so many who knew who much better than we did. We could see what a special person she was and are thankful we got to meet her. Love and prayers to her family.
