Joseph Frost Obituary

Joseph Steven "Joe" Frost

March 11, 1972 - February 3, 2022

Joseph Steven "Joe" Frost, 49, of Old Fort, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022, at Care Partner Solace Center in Asheville.

He was born March 11, 1972, in Henderson County, to the late Leroy Frost and Delma Louise Duckett Frost. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Anna Michelle Frost.

Joe enjoyed reading, planting flowers, talking, decorating for the holidays, and animals. He loved mornings and being outside. One of his favorite things to do was drink a fresh cup of coffee while watching the sunrise. Joe was a selfless man who always put others before himself. He would give anyone in need the shirt off his back. He enjoyed cooking and canning, then blessing someone else with the fruit of his labor. He was constantly giving to others. Joe loved all his family, but he had an especially close bond with his nephew, Tucker, who is his late sister, Michelle's son. Tucker was his world; his pride and joy and Joe was his biggest fan.

Those left behind to cherish Joe's memory are his beloved husband, Keith Burnette; his nephew, Tucker Dean Frost-Bryson; five siblings, Teresa Drake Lyda, Grady Drake, Lola Drake Coston, Randy Drake and Mark Drake; a special nephew and niece, Dustin Drake and Kellie Myers Moffat; brother-in-law, Jamie Burnette; special aunt, Hazel, who was like his second mom; uncle, Donald Lee Merrill; and his K9 companions, who were his forever babies, Anna and Lilly.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 10, in the chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home in Old Fort. A memorial service to celebrate Joe's life will follow at 2 p.m., at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carl Overton officiating.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in Joe's memory are asked to consider Lung Cancer Research Foundation, 155 E 55th St., Suite 6E, New York, NY 10022, www.lungcancerresearchfoundation.org/get-involved/other-ways-to-give/.

Joe was one of the finest gentlemen I ever knew. He was loved and respected by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Joe was my friend. He was kind, gentle, and loved his friends and family. Keith and Tucker were always the mainstay of his heart. I will never again meet anyone like Joe. I was honored to have known him and to have called him, Friend. Sleep in the arms of angels. Take our hearts and love with you. As you will be sorely missed!
