LADONNA HILL

LADONNA HILL LaDonna Marie Hill, 83, of McPherson, KS, and formerly of Salina, KS, peacefully passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025, surrounded by her family at her home. She was born March 26, 1941, in Minneapolis, KS, the daughter of Samuel LeRoy and Inez Marie (Goodall) Schlotz. On September 28, 1957, LaDonna was united in marriage to Garland Elmo Hill, Jr. in Salina, KS. This union was blessed with four children, Garland, III, Sonia, Sally, and Sean. LaDonna and Garland were married for 66 years prior to his passing on October 28, 2023. LaDonna retired in 2004 from McPherson Hospital where she was a dietary clerk for over 25 years. She attended New Life Foursquare Church and was a former member of Grace Bible Church. She was also a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association and volunteered at Save N' Share. Survivors include children, Garland "Skip" Hill, III of Hutchinson, KS, Sonia Hill of Topeka, KS, Sally Groves (Steve) of Glen Haven, CO, and Sean Hill (Suzette Ruddle-Hill) of McPherson, KS; ten grandchildren, Seth Richard Hill, Matthew Pope (Jessica), Cody Hill (Nicole), Dustin Hill (Shay), Tristin Rochelle, Abigail Bundy (Brandon), Aaron Harter, Nathanael Groves, Christine Groves (Brandon), and Daniel Groves (Sam); fourteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Sparks; and many extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Tommy Schlotz; and sister, Rita Sparks. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 27, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Pastor Andrea Baker officiating. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery with Pastor Steve Gowin officiating.
