LARRY CLARK Obituary

LARRY DWAYNE CLARK FEBRUARY 17, 1963 JANUARY 29, 2025 Larry Dwayne Clark was born in his grandmother's home on February 17, 1963, to Norman Walter and Martha Belle (Carter) Clark Sr. in St. Joseph, Missouri. He passed away in his home in Royal, Arkansas, on January 29, 2025, at the age of 61. Larry shared his father's passion for buying and fixing cars of all types. He could be stubborn and opinionated, but his kindness was remarkable. Larry quietly but fiercely loved his family and friends. He was also well-known for his remarkable sense of humor. From pulling pranks on his siblings to his quick wit, Larry loved a good joke. If he picked on you, it meant he loved you. The Clark family moved frequently during Larry's younger years, and he attended schools in several different locations. The family settled in Pearcey, Arkansas, in 1978, where Larry remained, later moving to Royal, even after the rest of the family moved back to Kansas. At the age of 17, Larry became a cafeteria assistant and janitor at Lake Hamilton Elementary School, later becoming a bus mechanic. He served the Lake Hamilton School District in various roles from 1980 until his retirement in 2012. The highlight of Larry's life was meeting S. Kim Holeman in 2000. She was the love of his life and provided him with many years of loving companionship. His family is grateful for her presence in his life. Larry is survived by Kim; his siblings, David Clark (Lorindia) of Moundridge, KS, and Tammy Johnson (Kenneth) of McPherson, KS; nieces, Jennifer, Samantha, Jasmine, Jessica, Amber, Kimberly, and Brigid; nephews, Justin, Dennis, and Bryan; Kim's sons, Nathan (Shelby) and Michael (Elizabeth); and many cherished friends - you know who you are! He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. The viewing is scheduled for February 17 at 1 p.m. with service to follow at 2 p.m. Smith Family Funeral Home, Hot Springs, AR is in charge of arrangements. Larry loved animals, especially his cats Yeti and Autumn. Memorials are suggested to Guardian Angels Cat Club, 907 Hobson Ave., Hot Springs, AR.

Larry was a good guy. He used to come to our kitchen to eat lunch. He had a wonderful wit and a big smile. He truly cared for us and more than once rescued a lunch lady from a flat tire or a dead car battery. My condolences to his family and close friends.
