David Walters Obituary

David Everett Walters, aged 51, passed away on January 17, 2024 with loved ones by his side. He was born October 14, 1972 in Roanoke, VA, to William Walters and the late Judy Metz.

A graduate of Cave Springs High School in Roanoke County, VA, he went on to attend Virginia Tech. He moved to the metro Atlanta area in 1999 and built a wonderful life through hard work and determination.

He enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing but also enjoyed watching movies, Hokies football and cooking for his family. A well-loved man, David enjoyed meeting people from every facet of life while maintaining old friendships. Most of all he loved his family and spent as much time as he could with them. He especially loved the Walters family tradition of dining at a Chinese restaurant on Christmas Day with other Atlanta-area family members. In his spare time, he supported his wife as a volunteer for 10 Women of Hope. He will be missed by all who love him.

David is survived by his wife AikWah; daughter Amaya; bonus daughter Marissa; father Bill (Sharon); uncles Bobby (Debbie) and Blaine (Helen); aunt Janice (Rodney); brother Randy; half-sister Loralee; step sisters Brandy (Jason) and Jennifer (Jared); step brother David Guy; members of the Pizza Hut crew; members of Bujikan Sanso Dojo and many other cousins and friends. And his faithful furry sidekick Cooper the Goldendoodle.

He is preceded in death by his mother Judy; grandfather DeeSpain and grandmother Katie. A memorial services was held at First Baptist Church Marietta. In his memory, contributions may be made to https://10womenofhope.org/
