Glynda Sanders Chalfant

1948 - 2023

Mrs. Glynda Gale Sanders Chalfant, of Marietta, passed away on January 26, 2023. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.

Glynda (or GG as she was known later in life) will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 54 years, Grif Chalfant; daughter, Courtney Chalfant; son, Lee; grandchildren, Eli, Holden, JD, Tessa, and Griffin; and sister, Carole Sanders McManus (Wiley).

Glynda was born in Marietta Hospital on Cherokee Street, grew up in Smyrna, and attended Campbell High School, where she was blessed with many lifelong friends. She had a passion for basketball and cheerleading. Glynda attended the University of Georgia, where she met and married her husband. She then worked for Delta Airlines. Grif and Glynda spent much of the next nine years traveling the world before settling down to build a family. They were members of the First Baptist Church of Marietta and Gary Bonds' Sunday School class.

Glynda lived for her family and friends, loved to travel and read, had a big heart, and was very creative. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made to the Calvary Children's Home, 1430 Lost Mountain Road, Powder Springs, Georgia 30127.

The family apologizes this announcement is made a little late but seeing as Glynda always said she'd be late to her own funeral, it seemed appropriate.
