Kenneth Leach Obituary

Ken Leach passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Regal Pointe East Cobb at the age of 70. He was a resident at Regal Pointe, and he passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side.

Kenneth E Leach was born on December 1, 1954 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Eldred and Wanda Leach, and he is survived by his brother, David Leach. Ken is preceded in death by his wife, Flo Leach, and survived by his three children and their spouses, Chris and Heather Dennis, Kimberly and Dan Sheats, and Kelly and Geoff Scruggs, as well as his five grandkids, Jake and Brandon Reinhart, Owen Dennis, and Winston and Everly Scruggs. Ken graduated from West Virginia University in 1977, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. After college he moved to Montgomery, Alabama, where he met the love of his life, Flo, and her two young kids, Chris and Kimberly. Ken and Flo were married in 1984, and moved to Ohio shortly after, where they welcomed their daughter Kelly.

From the beginning of his professional career, Ken was very successful and his name became known in the business world as he traveled, delivering more than 300 speeches in multiple countries related to quality and improvement. He represented sixteen Malcolm Baldrige Award winners, and had features in multiple publishings, including Fortune Magazines. Ken started his own company, Leach Quality Incorporated, in 1990 in Marietta, Georgia.

While his body failed him in the end, Ken was never known for being anything but strong and resilient. In 1990 he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and given six weeks to live; he passed away this year, thirty five years after his diagnosis! If you knew him, you also knew how incredibly strong his hand shakes were, making sure he heard you say "it starts to hurt" before your fingers went numb. Ken was quiet but also hilarious, strong yet caring, so smart, and always there to support his family. He will be missed dearly.

Rather than a service, the family has decided to host a gathering for those closest to him, to share stories and honor him in a more intimate setting that he would have preferred. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Kenneth E Leach to The Cleveland Clinic at https://my.clevelandclinic.org/giving.
