Lockett Pundt Obituary

Lockett James Pundt Jr., 95, of Marietta, Georgia passed away to his eternal home on September 30th, 2025. Lockett was born in Houston, Texas on February 16, 1930. His education included Cascia Hall Preparatory School, University of Oklahoma and University of Tulsa, graduating in 1953 with a bachelor's in Business Administration. He entered the Air Force in 1953 and completed flying school in 1956, with accomplishments of being an Instructor Pilot as well as in the Strategic Air Command flying B-47 bombers. His military retirement was in November of 1983 at the rank of Colonel. He continued working in a civilian capacity as Director of Logistics until August 1990. His total Government service was just over 39 years.

Lockett married his wife, Aleta Massey in March 1954. Shortly after they had two sons Jim and Mike Pundt. Lockett was a great father, husband and patriot of the country he loved. With his positive attitude, generous spirit and caring personality, he touched the lives of all that knew and loved him. He had a passion for living, loved sports and telling stories about his years in the military.

Lockett is preceded in death by his loving wife, Aleta and oldest son, Jim. Survivors include his son Mike, five grandchildren, Lockett, Brett, Matt, Sally and Michael and four great grandchildren, Rylee, Gemma, Aria and Iyla.

His service is Friday, October 10th, 2025 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Church, 87 Lacy Street, Marietta, Georgia 30064. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Lockett's name to St. Joseph Catholic Church Capital Campaign.
