Martha Strickland Obituary
One of Vonnie's greatest passions was gardening. Her hands were never far from the earth, and she took immense joy in cultivating her garden. Every spring and summer, her garden came alive with color, a reflection of her vibrant spirit and nurturing soul. Friends and family often marveled at how she could bring beauty and life to the simplest of spaces.
In addition to her green thumb, Vonnie had a gift for baking that was second to none. Her kitchen was always filled with the comforting smells of freshly baked banana nut bread, cookies, and other treats that she loved taking as treats to her friends and neighbors. Whether it was a family gathering, a holiday, or just a quiet afternoon, her baked goods were a favorite of everyone who had the pleasure of enjoying them. Her love for baking was a reflection of her generous nature - she took great joy in sharing her creations and bringing a little sweetness to those around her. Crochet was a treasured past time for Vonnie, and over the years she has given away hundreds of handmade baby blankets.
Vonnie was a true friend to many, offering support, understanding, and companionship without hesitation. She had a way of making everyone feel special, and her infectious smile and warm laughter brightened any room she entered. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, in Newnan.

Along with her parents, Vonnie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Jackson "Jack" Strickland. She leaves behind her devoted daughter, Lydia Kay Strickland Moore and son, Timothy Adam Strickland.
