CLEMMIE COOKSEY Obituary
Clemmie D. Cooksey, a lifelong resident of Atwater, passed away on May 31, 2010 in Merced at 62 years of age. He was born July 26, 1947 to Myrtle and Timothy Cooksey in Merced, CA. Clemmie graduated from Atwater High School in 1964. He married Barbara Day in 1969 and they had three children. He worked for Atwater Dry Cleaners in his younger years. In the early 1980's he started driving trucks for his brother at Cooksey Trucking in Atwater. He drove a truck for almost 30 years until his health started to decline. He also worked for a security service in the Bay Area.
Clemmie leaves to mourn his passing his wife Barbara, his children Clemmie Jr. (Lashonda), Dana (Jerel), Charnelle (Tamara), Misty, Terriana, Andrea and Donovan. He also leaves 13 grandchildren, his parents Myrtle and Timothy Cooksey of Atwater, his brothers Willie Cooksey of Atwater and Leon Cooksey of Merced, his sisters Gladys Cooksey-Love and Brenda Cooksey of Atwater as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, June 6, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Wilson Family Funeral Chapel, 1290 Winton Way, Atwater. The Funeral Service will take place on Monday morning, June 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Christian Center, 5935 N. Winton Way with Pastor Jerry C. Huey offificating. Burial will follow at Winton District Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Wilson Family Funeral Chapel of Atwater.
