CORETTE RANAE Obituary
June 3, 1942 - February 12, 2010
Corette left this world on February 12, 2010 after a long battle with several illnesses.
Corette loved life, her family and friends. Her loving husband of 51 years, Frank Jacobs, was her sole caretaker and did an incredible job. She was a loving mother to Wade (wife Lucinda), Ron, Kellie (Jacobs) Hunter (Husband Keith). She cherished her grandchildren, Amber, Brenton, Colby, Keith, Madeline and Avery. She is also survived by her siblings, Doug, Judith (Gray) and Charles Simpson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Wilma Simpson.
Corette lived a life of service and cared about everyone she met. Corette was a life long member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She happily dedicated her time to the genealogy library, helping many trace their ancestors. She was a teachers aid for 10 years at Sheehy Elementary School.
Corette brought passion and compassion to everything she did. She loved to bowl and golf. Her favorite hobby was collecting antiques, especially quilts, glass, dolls, baseball cards, purses and jewelry.
The Vistitation will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1080 East Yosemite Avenue, Merced, Ca on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Merced District Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations in her honor to the Lupus Society of America/California Office, 400 Corporate Pointe Ste. 300, Culver City, California 90230 or your favorite charity.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.

Corette played a big role & mother figure to me while I was growing up. She always made me feel welcome & loved. That has held on to me for many years. She will be greatly missed. It was truely a pleasure to have known Corette. She left an impact on my life several years ago and I have been blessed to have crossed paths with her. May God be with your family during this time.

To Mr. Jocobs,Kellie,Keith Sr.,Keith Jr., our thoghts and prayers are with you all. We are truely sorry to hear about Mrs. Jacobs. Mrs. Jacobs was a great person who would light up the room when she talked. It was an honor to have known her.

My deepest sympathy to your family during this difficult time. Your mom's collection of quilts fascinated me when I saw them. Your mom was very kind to all who have met her. We were very pleased to have the pleasure of meeting her.
