Darrell Rogers was born on May 20th, 1947 in Fort Smith, Arkansas and passed away on August 23, 2018 in Atwater, California. He lived in the Morgan Hill area for many years. He was a professional Truck Driver for 49 years, driving in the Central Valley and the Bay area. His passion was golfing with all his friends at Rancho Del Rey Golf Club and Gilroy Golf Course.
He was preceded by his parents Elmer & Edna Rogers, his sister Erma, and brothers Billy, Jack, John Jerry, Jimmy and Charles Rogers. Darrell is survived by his wife, Carol Rogers of 30 years, his daughter, Shelly Newberry of Lubbock, Texas, and son Darrell Rogers, Jr. of Elk Grove, CA, his stepchildren Sherry Rogers of Atwater, Artie Bronson of Cottage Grove, Oregon, and Richard Bronson of Santa Barbara, CA; grandchildren Michelle, Victoria, Kenny, Desiree, Amanda and Catera. Darrell also leaves behind his sisters Carolyn Ornburn of Canada, Brenda Belleci of Alaska, and brother Ron Rogers of Atwater, CA.; and 22 nieces and nephews.
I would like to thank Dr. Sidhu and his staff at the Merced Cancer Center, and also Hinds Hospice for all their care. At Darrell's request, there will be no services.
