I met Butch through my husband 37 years ago on the Yosemite trail rides sponsored by Merced Horseman's. I then had the opportunity to know him as Francis the teacher when I went to work for Atwater Elementary School District. Prayers of love and strength for his family.

I grew up every summer with Butch as one of my Dads best friends on the trail rides with the Merced Horsemen's. He, my Dad Buzz, Ed and Marlin spent hours preparing great meals in the Yosemite mountains for large groups nightly. I can still hear them all arguing about what to put in the beans and who drank the last of the box wine, lol! Love you Butch and will always hold those memories close to my heart. Have a cold one with Ed, Steve and Marlin and reminisce until we all join you at the campfire. RIP ❤

How lucky I was to be a member of Horseman's and involved in the Yosemite Trail Ride. The best relationships were established during those gatherings around the camp fire and the long dusty trail rides thru God's country. I will always think of Butch with a great deal of fondness. Sending thoughts of comfort and peace to Butch's family...we will all miss him!

Mr. Thompson was the most memorable teacher and coach, it was truly an honor to be a student of his. Going through Elementary School at elmerwood, you just hoped by that by the time you reached 6th grade you'd be lucky enough to get into the infamous mr. Thompson's class. I was one of the lucky ones who not only had him as a teacher but had him as a track coach as well. He was fun and inspiring and he is a teacher that none will forget. Bald is beautiful, Mr. T. I hope you're resting easy with all the toothpicks you could possibly want. Thank you for being the best teacher and coach. You're irreplaceable.
