Gary Freitas Obituary
Gary was known by many as Gar, but his favorite name was Papa Gary. Everyone who knew him knows how much he loved Bay Area Sports. He especially loved going to Giants games with his family & friends. He would watch every Niners game with The Crew, and was an encyclopedia of all sports. Gary's wit was unmatched, and his humor was as quick as his tongue. He would pop a wheelie on anything with wheels, and later in life enjoyed casino trips with his sisters, and catching up with friends at The Almond Tree. He was always looking forward to his next trip to Humboldt.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Janice & Edwin Freitas, and his lifelong best friend Mike Hamilton. He is survived by his daughter Myra (John); siblings Pam (Tom), Ronnie (Mary), Judy (Timm), Teresa (Jerry), Edie, Loren (Stephanus), Mary (Charlie) and numerous nieces and nephews that he adored. His favorite people in the world are Judy (Boogies), John Jr (Bubba), Billy and Austin.
Please join us November 1st at 11:00 a.m. at Merced Cemetery District 1300 B St, and a Celebration of Life to follow at Merced Elks RV Park 3600 Wardrobe Ave.

Well hate to see this guy go we had some epic times together some arguments too all in love I'm bay sports fan too but the other teams do I talked trash back in the day but he got me back ever since super fun to be with very athletic love you and your family RIP cuz

Gary I have known you for at least 50 years An original Block Head spent many of weekends with you and the gang growing up You were always a gentleman and so much fun to be around You will be missed by many

My memories of Gary was that he was quite the character. He was always making people laugh. He will be missed. May you rest easy Gary.
