George Black Obituary
October 20, 1952 - May 14, 2024
Merced, California - George was born to late George Elmer Black and Ruth May Guptill, a serviceman and homemaker in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at 17 and served in the Vietnam War earning several medals. He made his career as a journeyman plasterer. He was very hardworking and dedicated to his job earning him employee of the year. George was loving, quiet, and had the brightest smile. He loved his family, traveling, and spoiling his wife with great food and plants.
George is survived by his wife Virgie, children Tanya, Alan, Chris (Katie), and Remington, sister Donna and her family, and step-siblings: Steve, Starr, John, Paula, Mary Claire, Peter, Julie Ann, and Carole.
Funeral services on Saturday, May 25th at 1080 E Yosemite Ave from 4:00-6:30 pm.
