Leon Eric Pitts
Mar. 9, 1923 - April 3, 2012
Leon was born in Houston Tx and passed away at home in Merced on Apr 3, 2012. He worked in the propane business for 27 years where he was a manager for a local business. He was also a Pearl Harbor survivor that served on the USS Curtiss.
Leon is survived by his wife Mildred Pitts of Merced CA; three sons Michael Pitts of Elbert, CO, John Pitts of Elk Grove, CA and John Koehn of Escandito,CA; two granddaughters; Alysha Pitts and Shana Pitts both of Elk Grove, CA.; brother Garland Moore of Atwater, CA.
A viewing will also be held Wed, April 11 at Ivers & Alcorn, 901 W. Main St from 2 to 8 pm. Services will be held Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 9:00 am at the United Methodist Church, 899 Yosemite Pkwy, Merced and the burial following at 1:30 pm in Santa Nella, CA at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
