Melisa Mello Obituary

Melisa Ann Mello

May 25, 1955 - September 27, 2024

Atwater, California - Melisa was born May 25, 1955, in Turlock CA. She passed peacefully, at her daughter's home, amongst family and her most sincere loved ones, Friday, September 27, 2024, after her courageous battle with a second round of Cancer.

Melisa is preceded in death by her mother and father, Louise and Manuel Texeira; her brother, Manual Texeira; and her life long friend and father of her only child, Gregory Mello.

She is survived by her one and only loving daughter, Stacey Mello Laplante, her husband Eddie Laplante; three phenomenal grandchildren, Landon, Gionni and Braylon Laplante; her sister and brother, Darlene Martin and Gary Crabbe; and her long time partner, James Fanconi; along with a town full of great friends and acquaintances.

Her personality and smile were infectious, to know her was to love her.

In her free time, she enjoyed spending her time outdoors. From her early years in her fields farming watermelons with her family, to her later years of fishing with the grandkids, and hunting for treasures at estate sales every Friday and Saturday mornings with her closest friends and sister.

She was her daughter's best friend and greatest influence in life.

Grandchildren's biggest fan, she loved nothing more than watching her boys complete. She never missed an opportunity to be on the sidelines of their many sporting events routing them on! There was nothing in this world she would not do for any of them. She was truly the definition of unconditional love!

She was our rock, our matriarch, and will be forever ingrained in our thoughts, memories and traditions.

We were supposed to spend the rest of ours lives with you, and then we realized you spent the rest of your life with us. We smile because we know you loved us until the day you went away and we will keep loving you until the day we are all together again!

Funeral will be held at New Life Community Church, at 2124 First Street, Atwater, CA, on October 21, 2024, at 11 a.m.

Reception to follow at the Atwater Veterans Memorial Building at 1390 Broadway, Atwater, CA.

Flowers can be arranged through Wilson's Family Funeral Chapel in Atwater.

I had the honor and privilege working with Melisa for 16 years, which involved three different companies. She had a huge heart which was reflected with the love and pride of her Daughter and grandchildren. It seemed like she knew just about everyone in the Merced area. She would always share her knowledge of the different items she would find from the sales, which has gotten me interested in going to flea markets and estate sales. She will truly be missed, she was a great friend.

Melisa was an awesome Friend and Picker, one of the best. I knew there was a good sale when I saw her white truck outside the sale, with her Sister and friends. She was even able to talk herself into the sale early sometimes ! Could find something for a quarter and turn it into 200 bucks! Absolutely loving person, was kind and giving, loved her Grandkids, and Family. Melisa you are in a good place where there are treasures everywhere. I bet you will find the best Estate sale in the sky!!!! Will miss you.
