June 7, 1933 - November 28, 2023

Fresno, California - Neva June Thomas (maiden name, Young), passed away peacefully at her home in Fresno on November 28, 2023. Born June 7, 1933, in Lawton, Oklahoma, Neva moved with her family to Coalinga, California as a child. She graduated from Coalinga High School and married Robert "Bob" Milford Thomas in 1953 who was a student at Cal Poly at the time. They lived in the Clovis and Merced area for most of their lives together. Neva was a talented artist who won many awards and honors for her paintings and sculptures. She was also a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin and friend. She is survived by her sister Barbara Lauterbach, her children Melanie (son-in-law Marc), Daniel, and Melissa, her grandchildren Justin and Joshua (Melanie's sons), Travis and Dusty (Daniel's sons), and Zachary (Melissa's son), her step-granddaughter Shawna, and several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that adored her. Neva was preceded in death by her parents Ervin and Maggie Young and her siblings Pauline, Willard, and Loretta.

Neva's final resting place will be next to her husband at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, California. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
