Colonel Russell A. Downey, born in Brookville, Indiana on November 8, 1921. Last flight date April 26, 2017. He was a Veteran of WWII, Korea, and VIetnaam, with over 11,000 flight hours. Mr. Downey was former Commander of Castle AFB 4017th. We offer our sincere condolences to Susie Downey and Colonel Downey's family.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors provided by Travis Air Force Base Honor Guard, will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 at 9:30 AM, at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.

Russell, we wish we had known your Dad. It sounds like he had quite a life being in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. I'm sure right now he's having a beer with my Dad reminiscing about all their war experiences. Our Love to you an your Family.
