Merced, California - Sally Sue Sales of Merced, CA, was born December 29, 1948 to James Thomas and Sally Margret Reed in Ballico, CA and passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023. She was a resident of Merced for 52 years, after moving here with her first husband, Marvin Carlson in 1970.
Sally was a registered nurse and retired in 1996. She was a member of the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Merced. Sally was the Maid of Merced County in 1967, and She was a member of the 18 Holers at the Merced Golf and Country Club.
Sally is survived by her husband of 30 years, Brent T. Sales. They were married in 1993. Her children, Wendy (Erik), Ekizian of Merced, Clay (Heather) Carlson of San Luis Obispo, CA. Brian (Courtney) Sales of Rocklin, CA, Jeff Sales of Riverbank and Michael Sales of Modesto. Her brother Timothy James Reed and sister Sandra Clay Duree. She was the most wonderful Grammy to her 14 amazing grandchildren.
Her parents, James Thomas and Sally Margret and her first husband, Marvin Carlson, preceded Sally in death.
A Memorial service for Sally will be on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, Merced, Ca. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

I knew Sally thru work. She was such a nice person. She took great pride in her husband and family. My thoughts are with you all as you grieve your loss. I always love the line in a Joey Feels song from years ago. Her last breath on earth was her first breath in heaven. God bless.
