Saul B Salmon Sr.
November 11, 1935 - June 15, 2021
Visalia, California - Saul passed away from CoVID.
Survived by: wife, Linda Salmon (maiden Lennon) of 64 years,
three sons, Saul B. Salmon of Merced, CA, Cory Salmon of Pleasant Hill, CA (preceded in death Kirsten Salmon) and Serafin Salmon of Santa Barbara, CA and one daughter, Tina Salmon, Visalia, CA
8 Grandchildren, 8 great grand children, 1 great great granddaughter,
1 sister, Sylvia Ross of Michigan, 1 Nephew and 3 great Nephews,
He is preseded in Death by his parents, Harry G & Micaela B Salmon, Parent-in-laws Paul J. & Emma L. Lennon.
After attending Western High School in Detroit, MI., he joined the Air Force at age 17, in 1952, during the Korean War, proudly serving for 20 years as an Aircraft Electical Insrument Repair Technician. He retired in 1973 as a Master Sgt.in Merced County, California and later moved to Tulare County to work another 20 years for the Social Security Administration Office.
On May 23, 1980, Saul received an Associate in Arts degree at Porterville College, Porterville, California.
During Saul's time in the Military and Civil Service he receive many Medals, Certificates and Awards. Other than being stationed at Bunker Hill, Indiana where he met Linda Lennon and married her in November 1956. He traveled many places in the Air Force such as Casa Blanca, Morocco, Bunker Hill, Indiana, Clark AFB, Philipines, Omaha, Nebraska, Okinawa, and Castle AFB, Califonia.
Saul enjoyed many activites such as Golfing, Dancing with Senior Groups in Visalia, and Hanford, taking Line Dancing classes, Traveling, Square Dance, Short-stop or Outfield on Senior Soft ball team and playing in tournaments, going to movies at the Fox Theater, Concerts and every friday 'Lunch with the GUYs'. He visited his wife faithfully 2-3 days a week after she became a resident of a nursing home.
Visitation: July 1, 2021 from 3-6 pm with Rosary starting at 6:00 pm at Miller Chapel 1120 W. Goshen, Visalia, CA 93291
Service: July 2, 2021, starting 9:00 am, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 608 N. Church St., Visalia, CA 93291. After procession to Visalia Cemetary, 1300 W. Goshen Ave, Visalia, CA 93291 a potluck reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers please mail contribution for Alzheimer's Association %Tina Salmon, P O Box 4295, Visalia, CA 93278, because Saul's wife suffers with advance Dementia

Very sorry to hear of Saul's Death. Played Softball with him for the last 5 years or so. I liked him. I respected his devotion to his wife during her battle with dementia.

So sad to see This notice today! Saul was a wonderful co-worker when I worked at the social Security Office in Porterville. He never failed to have a sense of humor and good will. He was the one who made us all laugh with his "Yes My child?" saying. He made working in such stressful situations fun and enjoyable. RIP, old friend.

I worked with Saul years ago at Davis Typewriter Company. He always had a positive attitude and he was a thoughtful and compassionate man. Good memories of Saul.
