Scott Lower Obituary
November 29, 1946 - June 26, 2019
Scott Ralph Lower passed away in his home on June 26, 2019, following a long battle with cancer. His wife, Marie was by his side. Scott was born in Oakland, CA on November 29, 1946 to Roy and Jeanette Lower. The family soon moved back to the family home in Los Banos, where Scott resided for most of his life. He attended OLF, Los Banos High School, Cabrillo College, and San Jose State University, where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in graphic arts. After a short time as a print shop owner, he began his 30 year career with Grasslands Water District, from which he retired in 2011. Scott loved the outdoors, and was very active in archery, hunting, and golf. He spent many happy hours at the family hill ranch. Many archery trophies are displayed in his home, and he even built some of his own traditional bows. Scott married Marie (Morris) Lower on May 14, 1983, and they have two children, Hunter Lower (Natalie) and Ben Lower (Sarah.) There are also two grandchildren, Lilith and Lance Lower. Scott is also survived by a brother, Mark Lower (Tina,) cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Lance. No services are planned. At Scott's request, his ashes will be interred at the family ranch, where he spent so many happy times.

Sorry to hear of Scott's passing. In the mid-1970s when Scott ran his print shop, he helped us put together and print the LBHS newspaper. He was kind and generous with his time, and was a great teacher. My condolences to his family.

I hope that I never lose the memories of vacations we spent in California with Uncle Scott and Aunt Marie. Even though he tried to be as funny as Aunt Marie, his calming nature was what I remember most. He will be truly missed.

I just realized that I did not sign my post below. Again, my thoughts and prayers are with the family. Scott was one of the really good, nicen guys. Our conversation at the fifty year reunion seems even more meaningful.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Lower family. I look at these obits on-line every week or so not expecting to be effected, this is a shock. I remember speaking with Scott at the LBHS Fifty year reunion, and telling my wife that Scott was always one of the really good, nice guys. Again, my thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Maggie Kreinbring is my cousin and I spent many years with her and her family at the Ottertail Lake cabin. I remember the summer that Scott came back to Minnesota with them. He reminded me so much of Maedle, whom I idolized. Maggie has kept me up on Scott over the years. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. I'm sure he was as fantastic an adult a he was a teen. My sympathies to the family.
