Shirley Hansen Obituary
July 19, 1923 - May 18, 2024
Merced, California - Shirley was born the youngest of three sisters in Rowena, South Dakota. She grew up in Rowena and Sioux Falls where she met husband Karl Hansen. They married and subsequently moved to California before embarking on a nomadic Air Force lifestyle which took them from coast to coast over the years to follow, including several years in Alaska and along the way raising three children. She was the steadfast hub of the family, providing tireless strength and support over the years.
Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great (recently Great Great) Grandmother, her sunny disposition and unconditional love was greatly appreciated and will be greatly missed.
Shirley was preceded in passing by husband Karl and daughter Karen and is survived by sons Jeffrey and Steven, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday June 22nd at 12 p.m. at El Capitan Hotel, Sentinel Room, 609 W Main Street, Merced, CA 95340.
