Barbara Muller Obituary

Barbara Straite Muller passed away on July 20, 2022 in Oakland, California, surrounded by her three daughters. Barbara was born on December 21, 1933 in Binghamton, New York to Dorothy L. Straite and Lowell S. Straite. She graduated from Binghamton Central High School and, in a time when it was rare for a woman to attend college, Barbara graduated from State University of New York Teachers College at Cortland in 1958. Barbara married Robert K. Muller, and had four beautiful children. In 1974, Barbara moved to Bakersfield, California, where she taught fourth grade at a Catholic School, until she relocated to Hayward, California where she continued to teach until retirement. Barbara then lived in Campbell for nearly 18 years, until her daughter, Suzanne, brought her home to Oakland for her final days. She will be remembered for her unbeatable skills in Scrabble, and for her playful sense of humor.Barbara is pre-diseased by her son David Muller. She is survived by her daughters Debora Reisch of Rochester, NY; Suzanne Muller of Oakland, CA; and Kristen Levine of Fairfax, CA. She was very proud of her 5 grandchildren. A Celebration of Life to be announced. Barbara's daughters offer a heartfelt thank you to Hospice of the East Bay for their care and comfort.
