Benjamin A. Ford (nee Whetstone)

Resident of Lincoln, CA Previous resident of Milpitas, CA. Born May 2, 1932 in Sacramento, CA. Passed away November 19, 2010 in Lincoln, CA. Age 78. Ben was very active with the Semper Fi Association and their annual Toys for Tots Drives. His passions included golf, gardening and family. 'Once a Marine, Always a Marine' was the motto he lived by. He was a concrete batchman and a tour bus driver. Veteran USMC 1950-1955.

Survived by children Maida R. Curls, VC Highlands, NV. Grandchildren Maida Z.E. Parkinson, US Navy, Iraq, Celeste Curls, VC Highlands, NV. 2 great-grandchildren. Siblings, Dellores Fritter (W. Sac), Ardith Belden (W. Sac), Joan McKay (Smithfield N. Carolina), John Ford (Grass Valley). Preceded in death by his wife Maida Maxine Arnold Ford. Parents Benjamin A. Whetstone, Sara Jean Desjardins and Richard Coleman Ford.

Graveside Services Monday, Nov. 29, 2pm at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Sacramento, CA. In loving memory please send donations to Toys for Tots. Donate online at www.toysfortots.org or you can drop off donations at Cochran's Chapel of the Roses, 103 Lincoln St., Roseville, CA 95678. Donations can also be made at Benjamin's service.

BEN AND HIS SISTER, ARDTH, ATTENDED GRADE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL TOGETHER. EVEN THOUGH I HAVEN'T SEEN HIM IN YEARS, I HAVE KEPT IN TOUCH WITH ARDTH AND SHE HAS LET ME KNOW WHERE BEN HAS BEEN LIVING. I WANT TO LET MEMBERS OF HIS FAMILY KNOW I WILL BE SAYING A PRAYER FOR HIM. I WILL BE UNABLE TO ATTEND SERVICES AS I NOW LIVE IN ARIZONA.

"Uncle Ben" will be missed greatly! I have very fond memories of all his teasing when I was a kid. He was always trying to be funny! It was a pleasure to have contact with him through Facebook after all these years!
