Benjamin Moore Obituary

Benjamin Harrison Moore, M.D. Jan. 8, 1926 – April 19, 2008 Benjamin Harrison Moore M.D., a resident of the Bay Area Peninsula for over fifty years, passed away peacefully at his home in Menlo Park on Saturday, April 19, 2008. Dr. Moore was born and raised in Oklahoma City. He served in the Navy ROTC and the Navy from 1944-46 while continuing his education at University of Oklahoma. He graduated from O.U. in 1948 and completed his medical residency 1952. He earned his Oklahoma Medical License in 1953. In 1955, Dr. Moore and family moved to California and in 1956, Benjamin completed his California residency in surgery and joined the Palo Alto Medical Clinic as the 3rd Family Practice Member, where he worked until his retirement in 1989. Dr. Moore was a lifetime member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Ben Moore loved to travel, loved social gatherings, the outdoors, the ocean, the mountains and most of all, spending time with his family. Ben was preceded in death by Sally Davenport, his beloved companion of 32 years, in 2004. He is survived by his four sons Kevin Moore of Palo Alto; Keith Moore of Menlo Park; Michael Moore of Scotts Valley; Chris Moore (Vicki) of Garland, TX, a sister, Jean Saul of Oklahoma City and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial celebrating Ben's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17 at Roller, Hapgood & Tinney Funeral Home at the corner of Middlefield and Addison in Palo Alto.
