Billie Carvey Obituary

Billie Dahl Carvey
Apr 2, 1926 - Aug 27, 2014
San Carlos
Billie Dahl Carvey, 88, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, William (Bud) Carvey, five children, Mark, Brad (Andrea), Scott (Lorilie), D. Thomas (Paula), and Lori (John) and six grandchildren, Emily, Lindsey, Henry, Chad, Dex, Tom.
Born in Casper, Wyoming on April 2, 1926 to Thomas McDonald and Dolores Dahl McDonald, Billie grew up in Great Falls, Montana. She attended from University of Montana until her father died and she returned home to help her mother.
In 1948, she married Bud, whom she met at a college dance. They lived in Missoula and Big Timber, MT while Bud completed college. They moved to California in 1957, when Bud got a job teaching in Anderson, CA. The following year, Bud got a job in San Mateo, and the family moved to San Carlos.
Billie taught preschool for many years at the Carey School in Hillsborough. After retiring, Billie and Bud moved to Murrietta, CA to be near Billie's sister, Shirley Miller. They returned to the peninsula around ten years ago.
Every summer, the family spent the month of August fishing in Montana. After the kids were out of the house, Billie and Bud would pack up the RV and head for Montana, were they were able to spend the whole summer. While Billie would fish occasionally, she spent more time painting, while Bud would go fishing.
Billie was our greatest cheerleader; laughing at our jokes, listening to our music, encouraging us to do what we dreamed.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 5, at 4:00 pm. For location, leave an email message at [email protected]. If you wish, please make donations in Billie's name to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org).

Bud,
We were so shocked to find out about Billie. We have been trying to locate you for a long time but have been unsuccessful. We just found out about Billie in Feb. 2015 as the Obituary was not in the paper that we subscribe to. Please let us know how we can contact you. We loved Billie and will always remember our times together with you and Billie.

Bud,
We were so sorry to hear about the passing of your beloved Billie. We have been trying to contact you, but the numbers and addresses we had were no longer current. We talk about you both and have fond memories of the cruise (your 40th and our 10th), and our visit to your house and the lovely lunch on the water in Sausalito.
Rob still carries the turquoise and silver money clip that you gave him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Billie was such an important part of my early years….personally and professionally. The four of us (Billie, Carol Roper, Sally Loo and I) at Carey (often joined by Kathy Frigo) were the "fearsome foursome" -as CCW used to call us. There are way too many memories to share…….it would take a book. I am so sorry, Bud, Lori, the boys and families, for your loss. I loved her dearly. Jeannie Ainsworth
