If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign?
-Albert Einstein

Bob Pease possessed a ferocious intellect and the desk organization to match. The world lost one of the great analog minds when Mr. Pease passed through the pearly gates.

I will miss Bob. I sat 10 feet from him in mid 70's at NSC, and talked to him often. Saw him at Boston seminars as well. Loved his 3D spatial prototyping methods. A great scientist.

"Whats all this sympathy stuff ?"

Bob,
I am but one of many who have purchased your books, and designed with your devices. Don't shave the beard, otherwise I will never be able to find you. See ya in about 20....

Really sad, I loved his column and books.
His replies via e-mail where short but with a few words he could clarify a problem and the solution. He will be missed here in Europe also.

No one who knew Bob around National will forget the huge piles of paper stacked around his office from floor and desktop up to the ceiling! Yet he could always find things quickly. An amazing guy, truly a Silicon Valley icon who will be missed.

To: Nancy, Benjamin, and Jonathan, and family,

We are so sorry about the passing of Bob. I worked with him for over twenty years at National Semiconductor. He was a very nice person, who was genuinely interested in teaching and helping others. He always told me how much he treasured his family. Nancy was the love of his life; He adored his sons, his daughter-in-law, future daughter in-law, and his adorable grandchildren. If you knew Bob long enough, he would tell you many sweet stories about his family. Bob was an industry icon, but also a great family man. May we all find comfort that he is in a better place.

Bob Pease... the kindest, most respectful mentor a mask designer could ask for. Loved sharing his knowledge and publications with anyone in need. His office was special! And he knew exactly where everything was by date and volume! RIP Dr.Pease, you'll be missed.

I am so sad to hear of the passing of Bob Pease - he was an industry icon, and a role model for me in my days as a young engineer. I had just been thinking of inviting him for lunch at a new Ethiopian restaurant I had found..... I have great pics of his innovative Halloween costumes from the days I used to hold big Halloween parties, and he taught me that a little bit of positive feedback on an op amp really does work when one is squealing.

Bob was a wonderful human being and always believed in having fun with what you do for a living. He wasn't afraid to question "established wisdom" and add new insights. I learned a lot from Bob, and am forever enriched by having known him.
