Brian Kuczynski Obituary

Brian Kuczynski
Resident of Camarillo, CA
Following a tragic accident, Brian Joseph Kuczynski died with his family by his side on November 22, 2015 at Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Brian was born on January 10, 1992 at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto, CA. He grew up in Mountain View, CA, attending Preschool Family, Whisman and Landels elementary schools, Graham Middle School, and Mountain View High School. Brian also attended Foothill Community College in Los Altos Hills, CA and Cuesta Community College in San Luis Obispo, CA.
At the time of his death, Brian was a senior at California State University, Channel Islands with a double major in Economics and Business, and a minor in English. Brian's experience at CSUCI reawakened his passion for learning and blessed him with lots of new friends to add to the many valuable friendships he developed growing up in Mountain View. At CSUCI Brian discovered the joy of running as a member of the CSUCI Endurance Club. The club and his teammates became a very special part of his life.
Many in Mountain View will remember Brian as a Lifeguard for the City of Mountain View Recreation Department. For several summers Brian worked as a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor at Eagle and Rengstorff pools. As with everything he did, Brian approached his job with enthusiasm.
While at CSUCI, Brian worked as a Lifeguard at the YMCA in Newbury Park, CA and then became a tutor at the CSUCI Learning Resource Center. Brian loved having the opportunity to share his enjoyment of learning with others.
Brian was a loving and devoted son and brother, and a kind and supportive friend. He will be remembered for his intelligence, sense of humor, and passion for life.
Brian's death leaves a void in his family that can never be filled. His survivors include, his parents, Tony and Susan Kuczynski of Mountain View, CA; his sisters, Rebecca and Michelle Kuczynski also of Mountain View; his maternal aunt, Carol Goldberg (Markus dec.) of Austin, TX; paternal uncles, Michael Kuczynski (Janet) of Eureka, CA; Timothy Kuczynski of Paradise, CA; and Chris Kuczynski (Carola) of Napa, CA; paternal aunt, Linda Francis of River Ridge, LA; and cousins, Christy, Lucas, and Nikki Goldberg of Austin, TX; Jordan Kuczynski of Eureka, CA; and Daniel, Jasmin, and Kevin Kuczynski of Napa, CA.
Brian's family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, December 19, 2015 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at Scratch Restaurant on 401 Castro Street in Mountain View, CA. Please come and help us remember and celebrate Brian.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the CSU Channel Islands Foundation, One University Drive, Camarillo, CA 93012 (check memo: Brian Kuczynski- Endurance Club).

Dear Tony and Susan, we are very saddened to hear of Brian's passing. Our daughter, Emily, was a teammate of Brian's at CI and you welcomed her in to your home recently when the team traveled to the area for a meet. Emily spoke very highly of Brian, and we're sorry we never had the chance to get to know him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family during this very difficult time.

Dear Susan, dear Tony, I am so sorry to hear about your unimaginable loss! You have all my sympathies and warmest wishes.

My daughter Lara Fromherz and Brian went together to preschool family as 2-4 year olds and I have such fond memories of Brian's bright smile and gentle demeanor! Our paths crossed again later, when he and I took the same English class at Foothill college in 2011. I am not sure whether he thought it as interesting as I that I knew him from "shorter" days but he was very gracious to listen to my memories and seemed not at all embarrassed. I was sure happy to make his re-acquaintance and he had no recollection of me, of course, but behaved like he was delighted. He was a wonderful young person!

Dear Tony, Susan and family - I am so sorry to hear about your tragic loss. You're in my thoughts and prayers. I hope all the love being sent your way, and your memories of Brian, will in some small way help lighten this burden.
