Carleen Martin

Be Happy, were the last words Carleen Martin spoke to her family. She went peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family. Carleen was raised in Butte, Montana by her parents, Wilson and Iola Hicks. While working at the Miner's Bank in the late 50s, Carleen met and wed Veldon Martin. In Butte, son Terry and daughter Sallie were born. Carleen always had an itch to move beyond Montana and California called the family in the early 70's, settling in Los Gatos where they lived for over 35 years. Carleen started in the early days of Silicon Valley in Administration and HR. She worked for several companies over the years including Four-Phase Systems, Formaster, Braegen, Fuji Optical and FX Pal. For years Carleen was a member of the Junior League, both in Butte and San Jose. She loved to dance and kept a very social life that included many cherished, lifelong friends.Vel preceded her in death last September. Kat, as her family calls her, is survived by her son Terry and daughter-in-law Kim, daughter Sallie Martin and two grandchildren Brandon Martin and Tyler Pickett. She loved all dogs, they put an instant smile on her face. Consider donating to any shelter in her memory.
