Resident of Sunnyvale
Caroline E. Houston, daughter of Arthur G. and Helena Stricken Houston, passed away peacefully in her sleep January 30, 2022. She lived in Sunnyvale, CA since 1969. She was born November, 1940 in San Pedro, CA. Caroline was an alumna of Grossmont High School. She attended Pomona College graduating Cum Laude with a degree in Mathematics. Caroline worked for IBM in San Jose for thirty years as a programmer and project manager.
After retiring she worked part-time for H&R Block and volunteered helping senior citizens. Caroline's passions were ballroom dancing, Sierra Club hiking and traveling in Europe. She was independent and had a strong work ethic. Caroline exemplified the modern woman by her work at IBM and obtaining her private pilot license at age 26. Caroline was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur G. Houston III. Please share memories of her at [email protected]
