Christopher "Liam" Breslin

BRESLIN, Christopher ""Liam""-- 21 months old was taken off of life support the evening of Friday, Sept. 20, 2002. Liam's heart took it's last beat in the arms of his mother and father, surrounded by loving family members.
Liam is survived by his mommy Nicole Breslin and daddy Christopher Breslin, as well as grandparents Frank & Connie Breslin and James & Carolyn Thompson. Uncles Jeff Breslin, Frank Breslin and Todd Thompson, aunts Lucrecia Thompson and Nina Breslin, cousins Ricky & Haley Contreras, Christiaan, Aaron and Andrew Thompson as well as many other loving family members.
Liam's life was one of miracles, wonderment, amazement and courage. Born in San Jose and transferred after birth to Lucille Salter Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford where he was the first newborn to ever be diagnosed with an extremely rare degenerative muscle disorder called Myofibrillar Myopathy.
Much to many's disbelief and surprise, Liam was defying the odds of his diagnosis. He spent the first seven months of his life confined to the hospital but was able to finally come home June 4, 2001 after a 4 month battle with the insurance companies. Once home, Liam flourished and began to undertake new and amazing physical accomplishments.
Liam was a fighter in life and touched the lives of all who knew him. He was an inspiration to us all with his spirit and courage to defeat the odds. Liam will be missed by many and remembered for his amazing physical accomplishments as well as for his purpose, the fight for patients rights and the importance of independent medical review.
Liam had an inner beauty that he expressed with a smile, the raising of his hand to be kissed and the bright sparkle of his beautiful eyes. He knew how to make all problems disappear just by a glance with an amazing glow in his face. He will never be forgotten and will always be loved.
Until the day that Liam is reunited with his mommy and daddy, he will be taken care of and loved by his aunt Bonnie, who preceded him in death just a short nine months prior. Liam was an angel on earth and is now an angel in heaven, and will continue to fight for important causes through his parents, in his memory, as Liam would have wanted.
A Visitation will start Thursday 5:00 p.m. at DARLING-FISCHER CHAPEL OF THE HILLS, 615 N. Santa Cruz Ave., Los Gatos with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will take place Friday 12:00 Noon at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4848 Pearl Ave., San Jose. Donations may be made in Liam's name through Darling-Fischer Chapel of the Hills.
