Cletis Lewis Obituary

Cletis "Clay" Lewis
October 23, 1939-January 7, 2022
San Jose, California
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Cletis Raymond Lewis "Clay" 82 years old. Born October 23, 1939, in Belcherville Texas to his parents Clarence and Verna Lewis. He came from a big and very close family, always there for each other. They enjoyed a lot of time camping and fishing. As a youngster and as an adult he was always there for his siblings.
He is survived by his wife YanYan Zhang "Linda" his stepdaughter Cheng "Veronica" Zhang and son Rodney "Ozzy" Lewis and family Dee, Rayna, Ryan and great-grandson Jackson Souza, daughter-in-law Michele Lewis and family, Jacqui, Anthony "Tony", Veronica "Ronni" and great-grandchildren Lewis Dorman, Aurora Farr, grandson Richard "Ricky" Lewis and Brenda Jones, and his siblings Jimmy, Lenny, Verna, Peggy, and Yvonne, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his siblings Dale, Nobel, and Clay's two sons Ronald "Ron" Lewis and Richard "Ricky" Lewis. Predeceased by former wife Charlene Revel, also survived by his former wives Lynn Everett and Jeanne Carbone.
He spent most of his career as a well-known Service and Parts Director for an Automotive Dealership. Clay was an outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and was known as a "world class" fisherman, even winning a world record fishing title. His hobbies included watching Nascar, woodworking, working on his Harley and he always loved to tinker around in the garage. That was his favorite place to be and the favorite meeting place of many friends and family. Lots of laughs and great stories were shared there for many years. If the garage door was open it was an invitation for a visit. He loved helping people, especially when they were "down on their luck". He always inspired people to take positive steps forward in their lives and was a loyal and trusted friend. True to his Texas roots he loved country music - "the good old boys", Merle, Willie and Walen and all the Classics. But mostly, he loved his family and friends. He will truly be missed.
He passed away peacefully on January 7, 2022, in San Jose, California where he lived after a sudden "unexpected illness". There will be a Memorial Service held Saturday January 22, 2022, at 10:30am Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Saratoga. Reception following the services in the courtyard, all are welcome to attend.
If you are unable to join us in person, you may attend Clay's Funeral Services via Zoom Meeting Log in information ID: 714 9191 1383 Passcode: Gq0n2G
