David Alan Akers

Resident of La Quinta, CA

1952 - 2011

58, lost his heroic battle with cancer and passed peacefully June 4 at his home in La Quinta, CA.

In 1983 David relocated to Clarkston, Washington, where he was the owner and manager of a large mini-warehouse complex. In 1996 David retired and moved to La Quinta with his wife Bonnie.

David will be remembered by all who knew him for his quick wit, his great sense of humor, and his infectious impish smile.

David is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie, his sister, Karen, of Napa, California, his brother, Gary, of Fruita, Colorado, his nephew, Ryan, and nieces Janine, Brieanne, and Katrina.

Per David's request, no services were held.

Dear family: We are so sorry for the loss of David. Dave was my 1st cousin on my father's side and although I didn't see him as much as I wanted, I remember him always making me feel special. He was great at compliments. He also taught me a lot about music when I was just an ignorant teen. Dave will be dancing and singing before the throne of God for eternity. -- Debbie Akers Mitchell and Marshall Mitchell.
