This past weekend morning during my bicycle ride I stopped off at the Walter L. Bachrodt Elementary School grounds in the Rosemary Garden Neighborhood. I rested a moment and quietly listened to the echoes of innocents from children playing at recess, for it was here on these playgrounds that I first met David some forty seven years ago. I recalled our childhood memories together in the Cub Scouts and Little League, and the fun times we shared at Peter Burnett Jr. High, and Lincoln High School. My deepest sympathies are with the Otani family and friends of David.

My deepest sympathy to the Otani family. I met David after his Lincoln HS days. And though it has been a long time since I last seen him, he is remembered as an honest, kind, and generous, friend to me and so many of our mutual friends from San Jose High.
