David Simi Obituary
November 15, 1947 - June 29, 2020
Resident of San Jose
David passed into the arms of God surrounded by all his Holy Angels
June 29th, 2020.
He graduated from SAN JOSE STATE UNIVERSITY with a Master's Degree in music, his life's passion. After teaching at
West Valley College and St. Paul's school, he spent 42 years as Professor of music at SJSU and 50 years as music director/organist at Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran church.
Private services will be held at Saint Paul's Catholic Church in San Francisco with burial to follow at The Italian Cemetery in Colma.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to the charity of your choice.

David was one of the friends I hung out with at San Jose State - we were in choir together. He was always writing songs and sharing them with us. He was truly one of the sweetest guys I ever knew.

This news is a sad surprise. David was part of my childhood and growing up years at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Our Confirmation class was the culmination of a group that shared many memorable childhood and young adult experiences and left lasting impressions. Davids first love was always the music. He provided it for us and went on to share it with others as a professional. I am thankful for what I was able to experience through him at Good Shepherd, for our Confirmation group of friends and for having been able to share part of lifes path with David. I think the Angels must be singing a little sweeter now, since June 26th. Your loss here is felt. Thank you, David.

As a member of CGS for so many years, I enjoyed David's musical talent during church services. He played at my wedding long ago. I absolutely adored him and his family. Hugs and love go out to them all. May God hold you close to His heart and give you comfort.
