It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gloria Simi, who left us peacefully on February 3, 2025, in Michigan. Born on August 24, 1933, in Italy, Gloria lived a life filled with resilience, love, and dedication.
Gloria was a devoted mother to her daughters, Josie Boike and Lynda Glasser, and a cherished grandmother to Allison Cecil, Rebecca Allain, Adam Boike, Ivan Glasser, Amy Jenkins, and Debbie Frommer. She was also a beloved great-grandmother to Reagan and Max Allain.
Gloria's early years were marked by the trials of surviving the WWII army occupation of her family home. Despite these hardships, she immigrated to the United States in 1951, seeking a better future. In 1953, she married her loving husband, Remo, and together they embarked on a journey of building a family and a thriving life in America.
Tragically, Gloria lost her husband unexpectedly in 1968. With incredible strength and perseverance, she continued to raise her daughters, ensuring they became the first Moscatello family members to graduate from college. Her dedication to her family was unwavering, and her pride in their achievements was evident to all who knew her.
Gloria's passion for the hospitality industry was a lifelong pursuit. For more than 50 years, she worked diligently in the family restaurant business as well as fine establishments in the Detroit metropolitan area, bringing joy and satisfaction to countless patrons. Her warmth and generosity were felt by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. Her legacy will be remembered fondly by both her family and the many who were touched by her service.
As we mourn Gloria's passing, we also celebrate the remarkable life she led. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. May she rest in eternal peace.
