Richard Dale Friedly

Richard D. Friedly of Lapeer, passed away February 16, 2026 at the age of 70. Beloved husband of the late Peggy; dear father of Jason (Amy) Friedly, Stephanie Cremont and the late Danny Friedly; grandfather of Nick, Catlynn, Abby, Paige, Brennan, Genna, Ian and Caidyn; brother of Jimmy (Susie) Friedly and the late David Friedly; son-in-law of Arlene Furca; brother-in-law of Ann Malak, Greg (Tina) Furca, and Joel (Carolyn) Furca.

Richard moved to Michigan as a young child and graduated from Eisenhower High School. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and eventually returned to Michigan to focus on building a family rooted in faith, love, values and tradition. He thrived as a successful businessman and opened his own company before happily retiring to live out his life tending to his family and property. He loved spending his time enriching the lives of those close to him and would never give up an opportunity to spoil the grandchildren. He prided himself on being a dependable and honest man that would do anything to help those around him. He will forever be loved and missed by those that were blessed to have him as part of their life.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026 – 11:30 am at Modetz Funeral Home, 100 E. Silverbell Rd., Orion. The family will receive friends 9:30 am until time of service.

Interment on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 – 12:30 p.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
